Workforce Change |
As we reshape health services to seek improvements to access, delivery
and quality of healthcare, we also need to ensure that scarce human
resources are used to their maximum potential. For example
1. Agenda for change seeks to improve the use of staff to achieve efficiency
through better skills utilisation.
2. The migration of services from hospital to community will affect roles and
responsibilities.
3. ICT is opening up new possibilities for methods of work
4. Health professionals are gaining greater clinical responsibility
5. Increasing standards of care are leading to more focus on the provision
care in the 'right place, at the right time, by the right person.
Board members will benefit from a fuller explanation of these issues in this
session.
