Kate Watkins
Kate has had an extensive management career in the NHS, joining the service in Wales in 1978 as a graduate management trainee.
Prior to her appointment as Director of the Welsh NHS Employers Unit, Kate was Chief Executive of Newport Local Health Board for six years. During that time the LHB gained reputation for the development of innovative community based service improvement strategies.
Previously, she held a number of senior general management positions in secondary care as well as gaining extensive director level experience in the field of HR management and leadership development.
Kate has four children and lives in Powys.
