Influencing the media – shaping the debate
The media help shape the climate in which we all work. As well as responding to the news agenda, we try to shape it. For example, we secured widespread coverage of our report - Why the NHS needs fewer hospital beds.
We provide examples of good practice from members whenever we can and we have a regular column in the Western Mail every three weeks. And behind the scenes we brief senior journalists to help ensure that they understand the issues facing members.
