Trevor Purt

Trevor is the Chief Executive of Hywel Dda Health Board.

Having initially trained in Architecture and qualified as a Surveyor, he has spent the majority of his career in senior management positions within the healthcare sector.  Prior to his current post, Trevor was Chief Executive of NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale. He was also the Lead CEO for the following North West of England projects: scheduled care and systems management; ‘Extended GP hours’; GP equitable access and the reconfiguration of four Manchester acute hospitals. He is a past Board member of the NW Academy. 

Whilst at Rochdale PCT he was winner of the Queen Mother’s national award for Elderly Care innovation.  Trevor was also a member of a DH (Department of Health) working party on Community Hospitals and Chair of the Maternity Network for Greater Manchester, East Cheshire, High Peak and Rossendale.

Other roles have included Deputy Chair of the Independent Healthcare Association and Chair of its Community Care Board, member of the West Midlands NHS/Independent Sector Working Group, and member of the West Midlands Older Persons’ Task Force. Trevor additionally served for six years as a lay member of the Nursing & Midwifery Council and Chair of its Performance and Business planning committee.
